Kwetters history
Back in 1947 Gerrit Kwetters started his first trading
activities in eggs. With a pushcart he gathered the eggs at the
farms and sold them in the cities.
At the end of the seventies the activities were expanded in such a
way that the company moved to a larger building, also in Veen. The
trade in this time was mostly concentrated on export, with Germany
as the main market.
With a focus on quality, efficiency and growth Kwetters started a
new era. On one of our own farms we worked hard on a new concept.
In 1984 this resulted in the introduction of the 4 grain egg. The
first trademark in eggs was born.
From the nineties on Kwetters has witnessed a large grow through
mergers in the Netherlands and Germany and through expansion of its
customers. Nowadays the company is led by the third generation of
the Kwetters family.
