KAT is the most important authority for eggs and the various
housing systems for hens in Germany and the surrounding
EU-countries. The KAT logo means that the eggs Kwetters sells are
under permanent control and that they can be traced from the
producers of animal nutrition and the egg farms to the
consumer. |
 |
The Dutch society for the protection of animals developed a
Better Life Logo. A system ranking from 1 to 3 stars indicate the
extent to which farm animals are kept in an animal friendly way.
Our free range eggs are allowed to carry the 2 stars logo and our
organic eggs the 3 stars logo. |
 |
The European Bio logo guarantees that the product meets the
European legislation for organic farming. Skal inspects if the
companies that sell organic products meet the European legislation
for organic farming. If a product has the Skal logo a consumer can
be certain that the product is really organic. |

The RSPCA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals) is an international organisation focussing on the
improvement of the wellbeing of farm animals. A number of
regulations have been formulated and companies who comply with
these regulations are allowed to use the "Freedom Food" logo. In
2007 after months of hard work, Kwetters has been approved to sell
eggs with the Freedom Food logo in the United Kingdom. |

The Dutch IKB has developed a system that guarantees the
quality and origin of a product. The nutrition, the wellbeing and
the hygiene of the hens is monitored on a regular basis. |
